Patient Next of Kin: Next of Kin (NOK) details are currently not displaying accurately in the EMR Patient Information section

under the Contacts tab. To ensure we adhere to patient safety and privacy procedures, please only use NOK details obtained

directly from iPM or the Initial Patient Assessment (IPA) until this issue has been fixed.

Patient registration sheets can be printed from iPM if required.


CareCompass: The bed number does not display if you do not have a relationship established with the patient.

The Altered Nutrition Status Care Plan is no longer be available. This is being replaced with 2 new care plans

· Impaired Nutrition Status MST = 2

· Impaired Nutrition Status MST 3 and above

These new care plans will be automatically suggested by the system if the patient scores an MST of 2, or if the patient scores an MST of 3 and above.

The Nutrition Care section in the Comprehensive Care Plan now consists of interventions appropriate for basic nutrition care. Additional interventions will be available in the new care plans.

Exclusion of Sensitive Patient Alerts from Discharge Summaries

To prevent unauthorised viewing of potentially sensitive information on discharge summaries, the following Patient Care Alerts will be automatically excluded from any EMR Discharge Summary:

- Legal - Intervention Order (IVO) in place

- Safety - Family Violence

- Safety - Sexual Risk/Harm to Others

- Safety - Sexual Risk / Vulnerability

These alerts will still be viewable in the EMR itself.

Changes to VTE Risk Assessment and Prophylaxis workflow

To ensure compliance to the recently updated PROMPT VTE Risk Assessment & Prevention Clinical Guideline, the following significant changes have been made in the EMR:

Prophylactic enoxaparin administration time changed to 1800hrs

Prophylactic rivaroxaban (for post-orthopaedic surgery only) administration time changed to 1800hrs

Additional enoxaparin order sentences for 60mg have been created to accommodate patients >130kg

The VTE Care Pathway will no longer be available

Prophylactic enoxaparin orders placed prior to May 1st will retain the administration time of 1600hrs. Please cancel and re-order to ensure that the medication is administered at the new 1800hrs standard.

Neurophysiology Scientist Referrals (inpatients)

From Monday 25 March, inpatient neurophysiology referrals will need to be ordered via EMR. Refer via Referral to Neurophysiology Science (Initial) order.


You will no longer be able to submit referrals using the online form that has been available up until now.

Banner Bar weight display update:

The banner bar will now display Dosing Weight for patients 16 years of age and under. If no dosing weight has been documented, it will then display Measured Weight (if documented)

The banner bar will display Measured Weight for patients 17 years and over when documented;


Documentation of all weights (Estimated, Measured, Dosing) for all patients can also be found in Results Review.
